Still no pictures. I don't expect them to turn out great anyway but I am anxious to see them. Seems in the world of digital there's no need for patience anymore. I will go get them today.
We spent the next day of our whirlwind getaway at the Palm Beach, a kids water park at our hotel. It ended up being great for Dunk. I had found online that it was wheelchair accessible and Schliterrbahn never bothered to return my e-mail asking about the accessibility of their park. So, we went with Palm Beach and were really pleased. The kids played for hours in the pool that started as zero entry on all sides and only got to 4 ft deep in the middle. There was also a playground of sprayers and fountains and dumping buckets and another pool with a playground and small slides. We stayed until it was just too hot and then we got on the road. We spent that night in College Station and then on home the next day after a quick stop to look at fireplaces and brick.
Oh, and we did have to stop at a "Surf Shop" for Dunk before leaving Galveston. It was one of those huge, beach souvenir shops. Like we needed anything from there but if $20 was all it took to make them both happy and make our exit pleasant, so be it. C got an ankle bracelet and D got a visor.
And now I am researching what to do for our "real" vacation. My head hurts and I wish I had done this months ago. We just didn't know if we would really be able to leave, with the situation with both houses and all. Now we know we're all gonna lose it if we don't leave. Flights are outrageous because everyone else booked them months ago. And quite frankly, there's really no where close enough to drive that I want to go. We considered getting a cheap package to Mexico so the kids could see a real beach- but we don't have passports. Which is now a new thing added to my "after-school-starts-to-do-list".
So, that's about it for today. We'll be keeping busy so they can show the house (I hope!) Hope you have a great day!
